IMAP advises HEM on the sale of a majority stake to LCI Education
IMAP Morocco advised on the sale of an 85% stake in HEM, the leading Moroccan business school, to LCI Education, based in Montreal.

Multilatinas are leading Latin American companies that have consolidating their presence and competitive advantage in their respective local markets and have expanded to other markets in the region, but also outside of Latam to markets such as the United States or Europe. The panel discussed the challenges, risks and mitigants Multilatinas face when they enter M&A transactions to expand their business across the region and beyond. The panelists, all senior business professionals from Multilatinas, are from left to right; Jonathan Nickell, Vice President of Strategy and Business Development for Organizaión Corona; Esteban Giraldo, President Of Latam Centro at Grupo Bimbo; Diego Echave, Director of M&A at Kaluz; and Andrés Baracaldo Sarmiento, Vice President of Business Development at ISA.
Mauricio Salgar, Managing Director at Advent International Colombia presented a case study on Biotoscana on how to create value from an international expansion strategy.
The Symposium, organized by host firm Inverlink, is part of the IMAP Fall Conference program in Bogota, Colombia on October 19 - 21, attended by over 90 delegates from across IMAP. The focus of the conference is exploring M&A opportunities in Latin American and on creating cross-border and inter-regional collaboration.

The report is based on the results of a survey undertaken at the end of 2018, whereby IMAP partners across the world were asked for their views on the M&A markets in 2018, as well as their expectations for 2019.
IMAP is pleased to announce that Connector Specialists, Inc, distributor of industrial products, acquired the business operations of Bluestar Industries, LLC and Bluestar Ace Machine, LLC. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
