Advised Optivasys AB on its sale to Visma AS

Advised Optivasys, founded in 2007 and based in Gothenburg, an IT consultancy firm focusing on Qlik software on its sale to Visma, a software consulting and development firm.

The operations of the Visma Group comprise five software business areas, which correspond with Visma's strategic positions in important segments: SMB, Enterprise, Retail, Government and IT & Hosting. Visma is present in 12 countries with a pivot in Northern Europe. The Group, headquartered are in Oslo, Norway, has 7,400 employees and a turnover of around €950 million.

IMAP acted as financial advisor to Optivasys during the sales process. The owner to Optivasys wanted to further accelerate growth and hence focused on finding a buyer that could achieve this growth both in Sweden and abroad.

Carsten Boje Møller, member of Group Management with responsibility for the consulting division at Visma, said: “The acquisition is in line with our strategy to become a leading player in the Nordics within solutions for business intelligence based on QlikView and Qlik Sense. Together with the recently acquired companies bWise in Norway and Cox Consulting in Finland we are already well on our way on that journey. Business Intelligence has in recent years been a prioritized investment for many companies and with the new easily accessible cloud-based solutions which have now reached the market there are many indications that this will increase even more going forward.”

Richard Börjesson, CEO of Visma Consulting, added: “To complement our offering with business intelligence solutions was a natural step in our efforts to be a complete digitalization partner to both the public sector and larger private companies. The choice fell on Optivasys since we were looking for a fast-growing and well established partner to Qlik.”

Oskar Fahlvik, CEO of Optivasys commented: “With Visma as a new owner Optivasys gets a strong partner in our continued journey to reach our goals and vision to become the leading Qlik player in the Nordics. It will also give us a great opportunity to find synergies and new business opportunities that will further strengthen our offering to existing and new customers.”

Oskar Gröndahl, previous owner to Optivasys, said: “We experienced IMAP as highly professional and structured in their work. They created great value throughout the process and always focused to find the best solution for us as a client”.
