Acquired Majority Control of Business Operations
IMAP acted as financial advisor to Stångby Plantskola when they were acquired by MVI to form the basis of the group in the plant nursery industry MVI now is creating. Stångby Plantskola was founded in 1978 and is a market leading plant nursery in the Swedish B2B-market for plant material. The Company is well-renowned with a first-in-class reputation and an extensive assortment of trees and bushes. Stångby has approx. 50 employees and operates nurseries outside of Lund, Sweden, with effective logistics facilities in the Stockholm region.
Through Stångby, MVI has since carried out two additional acquisitions. The first one is HPJ Garden AB, a high-quality supplier of products within the horticultural and garden industry. Now the group also join forces with P. Kortegaards Planteskole A/S (“Kortegaards”), the premium Danish B2B-market leader for trees and bushes. The Group comes together under the name Treeco Holding with size to attain industry leadership in the Nordics.
The group will have several locations through Sweden and Denmark, being able to supply clients over a variety of industries with organic infrastructure products and services for a green urbanization. On a yearly basis, the group is expected to have a turnover in excess of SEK 200m and an approximate 80 employees.
The Nordic market for organic plant material has displayed healthy growth in recent years and is expected to continue growing. Underlying market trends comprise municipalities increased ambitions for green urbanization – through urban plant investments – to improve citizen well-being, the provision of natural barriers for flooding and heat waves, as well as the products’ inherent ability to capture GHG emissions.
MVI invests in profitable companies with a strong potential to grow. They prefer to partner with existing founders and management to accelerate growth. MVI are constantly on the lookout for industries that benefit from fundamental trends such as digitalization, resource scarcity and demographics, particularly in B2B and B2C services.
