We believe in high activity in the market during the fall

The Corona pandemic has made a clear impact on the Swedish transaction market as many processes have been temporarily paused. At the same time, we see that several processes are now slowly starting to resume, which we believe will mean that there will be increased activity during the autumn.

Despite prevailing market conditions, IMAP has closed several transactions, most recently the sale of INUstyr, based in Borås, active in building automation, on sale to Beijer Tech. This process generated a great deal of interest from both financial and industrial players, which shows that well-managed companies in industries that have not had a major impact from Covid-19 continues to generate considerable interest during the current pandemic.

Of course, most companies will be affected by Covid-19, directly or indirectly. In the beginning of the pandemic many industrial players had to focus on internal processes and financial players had to work more actively with existing portfolio companies, which slowed down activity. Banks also quickly became more restrictive, especially regarding financing for new acquisitions.

However, there are many financial players that have ongoing funds in which they are actively looking for platform investments and additional acquisitions. In addition, several new funds have been raised, most recently Priveq that raised a fund of SEK 2.5 billion. We also see continued high activity among major industrial players who continued to acquire during the current pandemic. All in all, this means that we believe that there is a pent-up demand and a lot of capital in the market, which guarantees an active autumn in the Swedish transaction market.
