Overview
The young entrepreneurs behind the e-commerce website Bolha.si (The Flea), developed by their company Megaklik d.o.o., wanted a partial cash out after putting everything into the company, but also saw the growth opportunites behind their eBay type site. Potential local buyers valued their creation at much less than they thought it was worth, but two international internet groups saw the value of the Bolha.si site in their regional expansion strategies. Each of them offered valuations several times larger than offered by local bidders.

Schibsted, the largest Norwegian media and publishing group, and Styria media, one of the largest Austrian media groups, which already has several media properties in the region.
The Deal
The owners of Megaklik sold 80% of the company to a local subsidiary of Schibsted, the largest Norwegian media group, in association with Styria media, Austria. The acquisition also included the agreement on the future earn-out for the remaining 20% of the ownership stake for the owners.
