IMAP Germany Digital Technology Report Q3 2022

We are pleased to release an update to the IT / Software Report for Q3 2022. The report provides insight and analysis on stock performance, valuation developments and M&A dynamics within the Software and IT Services sector. 

This publication also includes a more detailed view on the universe of application software providers, which we segment into horizontal (CRM, ERP, Tele-/ Communications, and SCM/ Logistics) and vertical application software (Energy/ Mining, Finance/ Insurance, Healthcare, and Real Estate/ Construction). 

The ongoing rise of interest rates continued to put pressure on the stock market performance of nearly all publicly listed software companies. Whereas the LTM performance for all indices and customized indices was negative, the horizontal SCM/ Logistics segment saw a positive performance in Q3 2022, as discussions about supply chain visibility and performance remain highly important.
 

M&A activity slowed down in Europe and Germany, being ca. 41% and c. 50% lower on a year-on-year comparison. Average deal sizes of disclosed deals on the contrary increased in Germany as well as in Europe, being primarily driven by two transactions valued at or above € 400m and three deals in Europe, being valued in excess of € 1bn.
